Abstract
|
|
|
The ultrastructural observation of liver needle biopsy obtained from 2
patients with falciparum malaria, in all of which diagnosis was confirmed by
the identification of malarial parasites in the peripheral blood was studied.
Detailed patterns of phagocytotic process of hypertrophied Kupffer
cells and endothelial cells occurring during the removal process of malarial
parasites from the blood were presented by transmission electron micros-

This observation´ indicates that an immunological phenomena may play an important role in the elimination of malarial parasites in the liver.
